The Bureau of Labor Statistics released their latest Consumer Price Index, and the results aren’t pretty. On the whole, the price of goods across the board went up 1% compared to just last month, and food was hit harder than other categories—an increase in 1.2% compared to just thirty days ago.

Ground beef. The price of ground beef went down by 0.7% compared to last month. It’s a nice little reprieve ahead of summer barbecues, and great news for anyone who’s been thinking about taking a stab at making a restaurant-quality level burger at home.
Pork chops. The price of pork chops went down by 1.7% compared to last month. If you add them to your menu, feel free to read up on how you can get them perfectly seared, and why you should consider marinating them in root beer.
Apples. A very modest decrease, but the price of apples did go down 0.1% compared to last month. You can use them to make any one of these ten recipes.
Oranges. The price of oranges went down by 1.8% compared to last month. Keep the peels afterwards for DIY vinegar cleaning sprays, or use them to liven up your garden.
