Latest and Greatest

And the winner is… New Year’s Day I printed out all the names of all those who entered to win the FREE Prayer Stop Starter Pack and had my son Trey cut them into little slips. We put them in a Prayer Stop hat, mixed them all up and then prayed and asked God to guide Trey’s hand and have him select the one person who would not only be blessed by this gift but would use it to be a blessing to others. We prayed and asked God to have Trey select someone that He would use in a mighty way to take the Prayer Stop out and use it to glorify God by ministering to the needs (both temporal and eternal) of the people they meet at their new Prayer Stop.

So, with that said, Trey pulled out a name and the winner of the FREE Prayer Stop starter pack was Dennis McCaskill of New Zealand! God did an amazing thing by having Dennis win this free Prayer Stop. You see, just about two weeks before we did the drawing I was chatting with Dennis on Facebook. Although I had never talked to Dennis verbally or met him personally, our chats seemed to give me a sense that I was going to get to know him better in the future. At the risk of sounding prejudice or alienating some of you, at one point in the chat I had the overwhelming desire for him to win the Prayer Stop. In fact, I told him in our online chat that I hoped and prayed he won it. I thought it was a nice thing to say at the time but in reality, I really did want this man, who I didn’t even know and had never met to win this free Prayer Stop. I wasn’t sure why either because I have never felt that way before in all the previous times I have given things away. Yet, somehow, some way, God used my son Trey to pull Dennis’ name from among all the others. I stand in awe of the mighty God we serve! I wish I would have videotaped it because I am sure, the look on my face when Trey pulled Dennis’ name, was priceless.

New PS Partners - Welcome New Team Leaders!

Each month, as the Lord allows, we would like to make mention of all the men and woman who have recently become one of our Prayer Stop Partners (a Counselor, Leader, Minister or Sponsor). So, with that thought in mind, we welcome and thank God for the first ever group of Prayer Stop Leaders. Here’s a list of the first people to commit to being a Prayer Stop leader in their area. Come to the First Ever Prayer Stop Boot Camp – FREE!

After much prayer and consideration, we have decided to hold the first ever GNN, Prayer Stop Boot Camp. Comparable to the Evangelism Boot Camps we used to host for Living Waters and Way of the Master, these camps will be the place to come and get equipped and prepared to launch a Prayer Stop ministry of your own. The camp will consist of 4-days and 3-nights of intensive, hands on training featuring I.P.O.D. that is sure to ignite a fire and a passion for Prayer Stop in all who participate. By the time you leave the PSBC (Prayer Stop Boot Camp), I have no doubt you will be refreshed and ready to run the race with perseverance that God has marked out for you. God willing, this first ever PSBC will be held in Dallas in May or June of 2010.

How much will this PSBC cost? Well believe it or not, because our heart and hope is for every Christian to experience the power of God and the way the Holy Spirit moves when witnessing and ministering to people at a Prayer Stop, we’re going to do something we feel will be a blessing to 20 committed Christians. Between now and April 15th, with every purchase of a Prayer Stop Starter Pack, we will give FREE admission for one person to the PSBC. That’s right. The first ever PSBC is FREE with every PS Starter pack purchased! You pay for the flight (or to drive) to Dallas, Texas and purchase a PS Starter Pack (under $500.00) before you arrive and I will take care of the hotel, transportation to and from the airport/hotel and Prayer Stop places, the cost of training and two meals each day. Rest assured, you will not only go home with all the knowledge and training you need to succeed, you will also be returning home with your brand new, Full Color Prayer Stop kiosk and all the accessories you need to establish a Prayer Stop for your church, ministry or association.

Pray for Prayer Stop - Prayer Needs

Currently, there is one crucial component and foundational area of our ministry that’s yet to be completed. I am convinced that if we are to fulfill the mandate laid out by Christ to not only pray for and minister to others, preach the Gospel and make disciples, we all must to work together in the area of the gifting God has given us. If Prayer Stops were only used to go out and pray for or minister to the needs of the people who visit a Prayer Stop kiosk, that in and of itself would be great. However, I feel it would fall short of what God wants from this amazing new ministry.

I am convinced that the Prayer Stop can and will be much more than just an effective and creative way to reach the lost or to pray with people in the public forum. I believe God will ultimately use all the Prayer Stop Partners and the “Post a Prayer” feature on our website as a vehicle to connect thousands of Christian ministries, churches, pastors and organizations, all around the world and have them collectively, effectively fight the good fight of faith. That this will be a ministry God uses to help “The Church” to reach out to a cold, dark and dying world and show them that Jesus Christ is alive and is working in the hearts, minds and lives of all those He calls His sons and daughters by using them to meet the needs of the men, woman and children in our own communities.

You see, we have developed something we call a Prayerscription©. Here’s how it works. First, while at a Prayer Stop praying with others, often times we will write out some biblical advice or give people our contact info on a Prayerscription©. Then, if the person wants more prayer or help with their particular problem, concern, question or need, we also take down their contact info and prayer request. Later, the PS Minister or Leader enters the prayer into the “Post a Prayer” feature on our website. Once this person’s private prayer is entered, based on their need and location, it automatically sends out an e-mail alert to the Prayer Stop Counselors who specialize in various social services and notifies them that a prayer has been posted. Once notified, the Counselor will contact the person and make every effort to help them with their specific, issue, problem or need as best they can. The great thing about Post a Prayer is, it’s not limited to only those who stop by a Prayer Stop kiosk to pray with a Minister or Leader. The network of Prayer Stop Counselors is ready, willing and able to serve anyone who posts a prayer. This significant segment of the Prayer Stop website can be used by anyone who cares about others and are willing to help others find people, pastors, churches, ministries or organizations that God will use to be the answer to their prayers. Perhaps someday it will be you who will be the beneficiary of this network of people praying for and meeting the needs of others?

As I hope you can tell, this “Post a Prayer” feature on our site is a crucial component to fulfilling the task God has laid before us and perhaps that’s why it seems the enemy has done all he can to thwart our efforts. The last thing the devil wants is to see the entire body of Christ working collectively to win souls and to make disciples for Christ.

The problem we are having is finding a good, competent, Christian programmer who can not only develop the database to capture all the prayers and application data from PS Partners (namely counselors), but can also develop a search engine that will search the database of counselors in order to match them up to the prayers (based on need and location) people submit on our website. The system they create must be able to automatically send out an e-mail alert to the selected counselor(s) and notify them that someone has posted a prayer expressing a need in the area that the counselor specializes in (i.e., marriage, family matters, abuse, unwanted pregnancy, financial issues, health, drugs and alcohol, etc). This one, very powerful and crucial component of our vision for this ministry has yet to be completed. Please join with me in asking God and believing that He will provide GNN with a programmer who is not only an IT expert, understands database and search engine issues but that is a Godly person who is called to serve God in this area. Ask God for a programmer who can appreciate the magnitude and importance of this work and can clearly see the vision we are casting for this ministry. If done properly, the work this person will do for GNN has the potential to reach millions of people for Christ while also serving as the mechanism God uses to connect the various members of the body of Christ and gets them in a position to be the answer to other people’s prayers. Please pray God will send this very important and pivotal person to help us complete this task, soon.
