My name is Neil Collins and I am the Richmond
City Local Leader of the Great News Network. I am so excited
about what the Lord is doing through the Great News Network
(GNN). I am writing this article (April 20) one year to
the day (exactly one year) from the kickoff of the very
first Evangelism Boot Camp. What an incredible time that
was for me, what an incredible year it has been since boot
camp, and most importantly what an AWESOME GOD WE SERVE!
I’d like to take just a moment to share a very
brief testimony about how I became involved with GNN and
how my life has been impacted in the year since my first
boot camp (EBC 1). My story is probably not much different
than many of the Seed Sowers. About two years ago, I was
spiritually in a season of confusion and lacked real direction
in regards to how God would use me. I daily reminded God
about all the ways he could use me. I had wonderful plans
for myself and would approach God with my ideas and opinions
about serving him. Not one time did I ever pray about becoming
a “Fisher of Men”. God showed me that in my
ignorance that my prayers were really “self-seeking”
and not for His glory. He lovingly re directed me to a place
where I came to the end of self and to a place where I just
wanted to serve Him. That is when he introduced me to Ray
Comfort in October of 2003. Within one week that month,
I had heard his name from two different people so I checked
him out to see who he was. I listened to Hell’s Best
Kept Secret, then, I listened to it again, and again, and
so on. I couldn’t get enough of the teaching that
I was hearing from Ray. I ordered some of his open air preaching
videos and as I watched for the first time, I knew that
God spoke that this is how I would be serving Him. This
is what He was telling me to do.
In December that year the application for EBC 1 came to
me in an email from Living Waters Ministries. I immediately
filled it out and two days after submitting the application,
Darrel Rundus (The General) sent me my acceptance letter
for EBC 1. I simply cannot put into words the impact that
Boot Camp had on me. All I can say is that if you have not
attended a camp, do whatever you have to do to get to one.
There are thousands of Christian concerts, festivals, and
seminars out there to choose from. I personally guarantee
that not one will come even close to EBC in transforming
your life and setting you on fire for God. I guarantee it.
In October of last year, I had the honor and privilege of
returning to EBC 3 as a group leader. The second trip was
as rewarding as the first. Again, words on a page simply
cannot express the impact that these camps have.
God is doing some incredible things here in Central Virginia.
He is raising up seed sowers throughout this area. I look
forward to being a part of his work in this area as well
as internationally through GNN and this awesome sanctuary
of seed sowing superstars. If you live in the Central Virginia
