Ever since I became a Christian back in June 1997, I have always had a hunger and desire to see the lost saved. I wanted to love God by obeying His commands and love my neighbor as myself by sharing the only message that could save their soul. Unfortunately, at the beginning of my Christian life, I had zeal without knowledge. I didn’t know how to witness and most times I would end up in an argument with lost sinners about Christianity or not knowing how to answer some objection. In order to become a better witness, I began studying about evangelism and revivals. When I read about revivals I got very excited. I got excited because of how much God worked amongst His people and how many lost sinners got saved. Then around Christmas 2003, I picked up a book called Revival’s Golden Key (which is now called Way Of The Master ). I looked at the back and saw that it was written by a strange looking New Zealander named Ray Comfort. I had no idea who this guy was, so I almost didn’t buy it. Then I looked at the commendations on the back of the book and there were many by people I respected, so I decided to buy it. I read through the whole book in no time, but the book wasn’t about what I expected it to be about. It was about Evangelism. I began putting the principles that I learned from that book into action and was very pleased with the evangelistic encounters I had. Not only was I pleased with my evangelistic encounters, but I now knew that I was witnessing with Biblical principles.
Then I discovered The Great News Network through Ray Comfort’s website . I signed up for Evangelism Boot Camp #3 and went to Dallas, TX in October 2004. I witnessed to more people in the first day of Evangelism Boot Camp then I had in the whole year of 2003. I came back from Boot Camp on fire for God and haven’t been the same since. I lost much of the fear that I had and God made me much bolder to reach the lost for Him. Every Christian should go to at least one GNN Boot Camp! Now I witness to just about every person that I possibly can. I strive to always be a nobody telling everybody about a somebody who came to save anybody. I thank God for the ministry of Ray Comfort (Living Waters) and The Great News Network! I thank God that Darrel Rundus was obedient to start The Great News Network: a Net of believers doing the Work of God-seeking to save the lost! It was back then, in October 2004, that God began to make it very clear to me that He was calling me to be an Evangelist and not a Pastor. I clearly not only had a strong desire to reach the lost, but I also had a strong desire to teach the Church how to evangelize. That is the Biblical definition of an Evangelist according to Ephesians 4:11-12: one who equips the Church to seek and save the lost. It just wasn’t the right time yet, so I waited upon God. It was less then a year later that God called me out of the Pastorate to full-time Evangelism. So, my wife, my two kids and I stepped out in faith, sold most of our possessions and moved east, from Alexandria, LA to Cary, NC. Along with my father-in-law, Rod Knapp, we started a ministry called PinPoint Evangelism and God has blessed us richly for being obedient to His call on our life. Now PinPoint Evangelism and GNN have teamed up to train the Church and reach the lost in the Triangle area (Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill/Cary) of North Carolina! I consider it an honor and privilege to be a Local Leader for GNN and to serve you as a fellow Christian.
We go out with an Evangelism team at least once a week to seek to save that which is lost and are committed to continue doing so. We go to local colleges (UNC, NCSU), to the flea market, to parades and events and wherever else God might lead us to go. We are determined to fulfill the Great Commission right here in our “Jerusalem.” I lead with integrity, character and honesty.
