My wife, Sheila and I first heard HBKS about two and a half years ago. A friend of mine loaned me a VHS tape from ten years earlier of Ray giving the teaching while he was still with Keith Green’s ministry. I had been a Christian about thirteen years at that time and had tried to share my faith from the beginning. I was blown away by the power and biblical soundness of the HBKS. I know that this is the way to bring conviction for sins and started using what I could remember right away.
I had studied Catholicism, Mormonism, about Jehovah Witnesses, evolution, a little about Buddhism, and all kids of other ism’s that people come up with to avoid coming to the living God. I had come to a point of frustration in sharing my faith because there always seemed to be another argument. We had seen very few people come under conviction after sharing the Romans Road and other witnessing techniques I had learned. It wasn’t until learning the way of the master that Romans 3:19 (Now we know that what things so ever the law says, it says to them who ar! e under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.) really made sense.
We are always so excited to talk about the Lord Jesus, the things He has done, the things He is doing. When we went to EBC 6 we were so encouraged. There were 130 other believers there and all of them were on fire for the Lord. We had an awesome time of fellowship, prayer and evangelism. We truly were with brothers and sisters. It was like the book of Acts come alive!
God has given me a real passion for helping brothers and sisters learn to share their faith. It’s exciting to see people step out of their comfort zone because of their love for Christ and love for the lost. The doors are open for us to go into area churches and begin the foundation course. The Lord is developing a “fishing” team right here in our city. We live in a tourist area and are looking forward to being ou! t on the street with the people at every event this coming year.
